TransformED 2026
Monday October 19, 2026 1:45pm - 3:00pm EDT
Limited Capacity seats available
As living memory of the events of the Holocaust passes with those who lived it, it is more important than ever that teachers have the breadth of knowledge and skills to teach the events of this history, and to engage students in literature related to it. Michigan has a mandate of at least 6 hours of Holocaust and genocide instruction in grades 8-12, but many districts are not meeting that mark. This session will help teachers learn the tools available and the best practices in Holocaust education today from an educator who was part of the inaugural Auschwitz-Birkenau Legacy Fellowship, who has traveled to Germany and Poland to engage in Holocaust study, and has taught a Holocaust history elective since 2022.
