How do we know whether students are truly applying what they have been taught? This session focuses on purposeful observation of students as they read, with an emphasis on decoding, fluency, self-monitoring, comprehension, and phonics transfer. Teachers will explore how brief reading observations using appropriate texts can provide insight into student reading and inform responsive, student-centered instruction.
