About me
Kimberly Brown (Kim) is a member of the Whole Child Team at Jackson County Intermediate School District (JCISD), where she currently serves as the Attendance, Truancy, and Special Populations Coordinator and County Attendance Officer. She has held this role for the past five school years, supporting students, families, and schools throughout Jackson County. As the County Attendance Officer, Kim works closely with school districts, administrators, counselors, social workers, families, community-based organizations, courts, and other community partners to address barriers to school attendance and ensure students are attending school as required. Her approach focuses on prevention, early intervention, relationship-building, and collaboration. Kim believes that improving attendance requires understanding the reasons behind a student’s absences and bringing the right people and resources together to support the student and family.
